Among the expatriate population in the Sultanate, Baburaj Eledath Mana Shankaran Nambudiri has made a name for himself among the Indian Diaspora including chartered accountants community with his dedication, expertise and professionalism. His quest for greater insights, ardor and commitment has helped him go up the ranks in Damana MIG, a prominent insurance service provider in the Middle East. During his association with the organisation that spans almost three decades, Baburaj has played a key role in taking it to new heights. Serving as the Accounts/Finance Manager of Damana, he is determined to keep the growth curve on an upward trajectory.

A Journey That Began in Sreekrishnapuram
Baburaj was born in Sreekrishnapuram in Kerala’s Palakkad district to Sankaran Nambudiri, who had job in Ayurveda-related Company apart from performing Hindu rites and rituals, and Devi, a sweet homemaker. Good at crunching numbers, Baburaj did his graduation in mathematics after which he successfully completed the Chartered Accountancy course.

Transition to Oman
After an eight-months-long stint with a private firm in Thrissur, Baburaj got the opportunity to work in the Sultanate of Oman. It was in 1995 that he joined in a Furnishing company at Muscat as Accounts Manager. After working there for one and a half years, he joined with Oman Branch of Multinational Insurance Company in October 1996. Since then, there has been no looking back and he steadily rose in stature banking on his hard work, vision and go-getter attitude. The company is part of MIG group of companies and is now known as DAMANA / Saudi Arabian Insurance Company.

Family and Passion
Baburaj is a known figure in the cultural and social circuit of the Sultanate as he has proved his organizational skills in several fields. He participated several cultural and social events including the drama festival organized by the Sangeetha Nataka Akademi in the period 2015-2016 in Muscat.

He has served as the Internal Auditor of the Kerala Wing of the Indian Social Club since its inception in year 2001 till year 2010.  Baburaj was its treasurer from 2010 to 2011 and from 2017 to 2022. He enjoys the support of his wife, Indu Baburaj, who is very active in the cultural scene of Muscat especially drama, dance, and short films. The couple is blessed with two daughters. The eldest child Devika follows in the footsteps of her father and is a Chartered Accountant working with Goldman Sachs in Bengaluru. The second daughter Gopika is pursuing her graduate studies in Performing Arts and Creative Media at Christ University, Bengaluru. Baburaj is equally passionate about sports and exploring new avenues of knowledge.
