Journey That Began in Thiruvalla
He was born in Thiruvalla to Surendran and Omana. After completing his school education, Sujith went on to pursue a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. He began his career as a Site Supervisor at RAY Construction in KINFRA Wayanad. He remained there from 2000 to 2002, after which he joined Al Majadeef Trading LLC in the Sultanate as an Electrical Supervisor. From 2007 to 2013, Sujith was with Civilco as an Electrical Designer. His next stint before pursuing entrepreneurship was with Tebodin as Senior Electrical Designer from 2013 to 2018. He then went on to join Professional Trading as the Electromechanical Divisional Head.
His business dreams took shape in 2019 when he launched Al Waad Trading and Contracting Enterprises. The maiden project was from Sultan Qaboos University Bone Marrow Treatment Hospital. Later, he began MEP work with 22 workers and began outsourcing workers also. Then came the Electro-mechanical projects at Mina Al Fahal for PDO, Electro-mechanical projects at Shell Development permanent Accommodation Mabrouk, etc. Currently, there are 28 staff members, including four engineers, and the ongoing project at various sites in Oman.
About Al Waad
Although the inception of the company dates back to the mid-1980s, it was only in the late 2000s that it branched into MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and electrical power transmission and distribution projects. Located in Al Khuwair in Muscat, the firm has a team of fully trained and skilled engineers and technicians. It deals with electro-mechanical works of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings as well as infrastructure projects.
Ambit of Services
The firm is engaged in the complete internal & external electrical works for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. It also does the plumbing work from piping to sanitation for all sorts of projects. The work also includes the laying and installation of sewerage systems, construction of sewerage plants and chambers, and plumbing stations. Among other works, it also undertakes the installation of main water supply systems, cold and hot water pipes and pumps, heaters, and tanks.
Apart from power transmission and distribution works, the company is also specialised in handling heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning works. It has also carved a niche in civil engineering by constructing residential and commercial buildings as well as industrial buildings like factories and shades.
Family and Passions
He is married to Deepa Sujith, a BSc nurse by profession who now heads the Al Waad MediTouch medical supplies company. They are blessed with two children. Their son Adwaith Sujith is a Class XI student at ISG, while their daughter Ashwitha is in Class IV at the same school.
Passionate about poetry, Sujith is the founder of Kavithakootam, a collective of those who love verse. He is also active in the Indian Social Club Malayalam Wing and serves as the Service Committee Chairperson of the Lions Club International. A philanthropist, Sujith engages in social activities and a helping hand in medical causes, embodying the spirit of compassion. When not crunching numbers or mapping out business strategies, he loves to be on the stage, either crooning his favourite numbers or acting in dramas to showcase his thespian skills. Far from being hobbies, singing and theatre are his twin conduits that display the creative side of this business honcho. Whether it is hitting the high notes or bringing characters alive on stage, Sujith does it with panache, leaving the audience mesmerised.
Sujith is also a sports aficionado with a penchant for both badminton and cricket. It goes without saying that he has a special penchant for the Gentleman’s Game. Though expatriate businessmen who love cricket are dime a dozen, this ace entrepreneur stands head and shoulders above them. More than being a boss, he motivates his staff to find time to hit the turf and develop a passion for cricket. Thanks to his enthusiasm and motivation, his cricket-loving employees are serious about the game, and they are part of his formidable Team Al Waad. For many years, it has been participating in Oman Cricket Domestic League matches, making its presence felt on the turf.
Recently, his team emerged as the Group Champions of the 2025–26 Domestic League conducted by Oman Cricket. This incredible achievement is a testament to the team’s dedication, unity, and fighting spirit. Sujith finished as the highest wicket-taker for the team and the second highest wicket-taker in the division, Sujith was also part of the official team of volunteers of the T20 World Cup held in Oman in 2021. What’s more, he is also the official umpire for the Oman Cricket Domestic League, which is yet another feather in his sporting crown.
