From Kasaragod to Muscat
Dr Javed belongs to Kasaragod, where he was born to the late Abdul S Ahmed, a businessman, and Suhara Abdul, a teacher. He did his graduate and post-graduate studies in Dentistry from Yenepoya University in Mangaluru.
In 2013, he completed his MDS and joined Annoor Dental College in Muvattupuzha as a senior lecturer. The following year, the turning point in his professional life came when he was able to move to Oman, where he joined Ahmed Dental Centre in Mawaleh as a General Dentist for five years.
A trailblazer in his field, Dr. Javed holds the distinction of being the only Kerala-born specialist in Oman dedicated to oral pre-cancer screening and treatment, bringing a unique expertise to the region. His singular presence underscores his commitment to advancing healthcare, offering patients a trusted ally in their fight against potentially devastating conditions. Through his pioneering work, Dr. Javed embodies the power of individual dedication to transform lives and elevate dental care.
Dr Javed then began his entrepreneurial journey by starting Zaytoon Dental and Orthodontic Centre LLC with his colleague Dr Nishad, at Amerath in Muscat in 2019. Another milestone in his career came in 2021 when he took over the reins of Al Fath Clinic, run by his uncle, the late Dr AP Muhammed, who was a general physician. After taking over the clinic, it was rechristened as Al Fath Medical Centre, and it now has one Dental and two General Practitioners.
At the Medical Centre, Dr. Javed specialises in biopsy, oral pre-cancer screening, and treatment; he is one of the few doctors in Oman, and a prominent member of the Keralite community, to specialise in this vital field.

The history of Al Fath goes way back to 1985, when it began as a modest clinic dedicated to providing accessible and reliable healthcare to the community. In its early years, the facility focused primarily on general medical services and diagnostic care, offering essential investigations such as blood tests, urine tests, and ECG to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Over time, the clinic expanded its services to include a comprehensive dental department, which has since grown into a well-established and successful part of the centre. Today, the facility provides a range of dental procedures supported by modern technology, including advanced CBCT imaging for precise dental assessment and treatment planning. With the added convenience of an attached pharmacy, Al Fath Medical Centre continues to serve patients with integrated medical and dental care, maintaining its longstanding commitment to quality, efficiency, and patient well-being.
It offers a panoply of services to the public, such as General Medical Treatment, General Dental Treatment, Oral Diseases Screening and Treatments for oral pre-cancer and cancer-related conditions, treatment of TMJ related diseases, OPG X Ray, and CBCT with report, Lab Investigations including blood, urine, and biopsy . The centre also has an in-house pharmacy as well.
Family and Passions
An active member of the KMCC, Dr Javed is married to Surumi, an engineer by profession, and they are blessed with a boy and a girl who are twins. Mohamed Mehzan is four and a half years old, and he goes to Al Hail Nursery Pre School, and his sister Fathima Ayath is also in the same institution.
Apart from the drills and periodontal probe, Dr Javed is enthusiastic about table tennis, badminton, and cricket. Whenever time permits, he swaps his overcoat for the jersey to hit the pitch as part of the Dental Dynamos, a cricket team of dental professionals in Muscat. Skilled at bowling, the sports enthusiast has taken part in tourneys conducted at Al Mouj, winning prizes as well.
