Long before he became a defining pillar of Oman’s automotive and industrial supply landscape, B.T. Rajan’s journey began in the coastal city of Kollam, Kerala. Born to the late Bhaskaran—a visionary businessman who would become his lifelong inspiration—and the late Saraswathi, a devoted homemaker, Rajan learned the foundational values of integrity, discipline, and grit early in life.
After completing his diploma in automobile engineering, Rajan plunged directly into the trenches of the automotive world. He cut his teeth as a parts-in-charge at Grand Automobiles (Musaliar Group) in Kollam, spending six formative years mastering inventory, operations, and customer needs before joining the Malayil Group in Kottayam. These were years of relentless physical labor, long hours, and hands-on learning—forging the unwavering work ethic that would define his entire life.
The Saud Bahwan Era: Mastering the Art of Turnarounds
In 1979, seeking broader horizons, Rajan moved to Muscat and joined Saud Bahwan Toyota as a Spare Parts Executive. What followed was a legendary three-decade masterclass in corporate leadership.
Rajan didn’t just manage branches; he transformed them. Tasked repeatedly with taking over underperforming, struggling branches across the Capital, Batinah Region, Sharqiya Region, and Salalah Region, he relied on an uncanny ability to boost sagging fortunes. Through sharper inventory control, rigorous budgeting, and an acute focus on genuine customer relationships, he turned every challenge into a victory. His leadership earned him consistent recognition and top performance accolades across his tenure.
His capabilities did not go unnoticed at the highest levels. Handpicked for specialized training in Japan, Rajan absorbed cutting-edge operational philosophies and brought them back to Oman. By the time he retired as Senior Manager for the Dhofar Region in 2010, he had not only built a sterling professional reputation but had fundamentally elevated standards across the automotive sector.
Throughout his illustrious career, he approached business with the mindset of a true entrepreneur, patiently waiting for the right moment to ignite his own independent path.
Forging an Empire: The Birth of Middle East Global Agency (MEGA)
In 2010, retirement was still not in Rajan’s vocabulary. Inspired by his father’s legacy and armed with decades of hard-earned expertise, he decided to build something of his own. Purely by chance, a customer mentioned that a business once profitable was facing severe losses and going under the hammer.
Seizing the opportunity alongside his local partner who is his dear friend as he likes to call him, and his two sons—Anil Raj and Arun Raj, both freshly out of college—he founded the Middle East Global Agency (MEGA).
The early days demanded immense sacrifice, late nights, and ironclad perseverance. Starting from scratch with a modest vision, three brave employees, and steadfast local backing, Rajan’s golden touch transformed MEGA from a humble startup into an industry powerhouse. Today, the enterprise boasts: Over 50 dedicated employees driving daily operations. 9 strategic branches spanning Salalah, Muscat, and Sohar.

From the valleys of Salalah, the next big move was a foray back into the Capital—the very place where his Omani journey first started. In 2022, Al Nasar Technical LLC was born, establishing a powerful operational footprint in Muscat.
Serving as Co-Founder and Managing Director alongside his role at MEGA, Rajan guides Al Nasar as a dominant force dealing in lubricants, tyres (OTR and TBR), and heavy-duty spare parts.

MEGA holds official distributorships for multiple international brands, including ZF Transmission parts, FAG bearings, Hengst Filters, Swedish Lorry Parts (SLP), and Febi Bilstein.
MEGA remains the largest stockist of automotive spare parts for commercial and passenger vehicles in the Dhofar Region.

The empire is now amplified by the next generation: northern operations are spearheaded by his eldest son, Anil Raj (Senior Vice President, Sales), while the southern stronghold is managed by his youngest son, Arun Raj (Vice President, Sales).
Legacy, Passion, and Family
Despite running multi-million-dollar operations, the veteran businessman remains remarkably grounded. An avid cricket, tennis, and badminton enthusiast who still commands the court with youthful energy, Rajan credits his anchor and greatest blessing to his wife, Thankamony, whose unwavering support nurtured their home while he chased formidable professional dreams.
Eldest Son, Anil: Armed with an MA in International Relations from JNU, Delhi, Anil co-founded MEGA with his father in 2010. He is married to Lekshmi, and they have a daughter, Meghna.
Youngest Son, Arun: A Mechanical Engineering graduate from Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology, Madras, Arun co-founded the enterprise alongside his father and elder brother. He and his wife Vyshna are blessed with three children: Neha Raj, Zaara Raj, and their young son, Agastya Raj Bhaskar.
