A Journey That Began in Cheruthuruthy
Nishad belongs to Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur District, where he was born as the son of the late Mohammed K B, a businessman, and Aminakutty, a housewife. Nishad’s entrepreneurial journey was shaped long before he established Al Mada.
After completing his education, he began his career at a Dies and Moulds company in Mullurkkara, Thrissur. At the same time, he ventured into a small-scale business in his hometown, gaining his first experience of entrepreneurship and learning the realities of running a business.
In 2001, he moved to Mumbai, where he worked as a CNC Programmer across different industrial sectors. Those years gave Nishad a strong technical foundation and a practical understanding of engineering processes, production, and quality.
In 2005, another important chapter began when he moved to Oman as a CNC Programmer. His career progressed steadily. Between 2005 and 2010, he worked with Metal Engineering LLC, where he advanced from a technical role to Project Coordinator. From 2010 to 2012, he served as a Project Manager with Gulf Triangle LLC. These years in Oman proved to be a defining period in Nishad’s professional development.
He had the opportunity to be involved in several prestigious projects across the Sultanate, including Qasr Al Alam, Royal Opera House Muscat, Sohar Aluminium Smelter, Oman Botanic Garden, and Muscat International Airport, among others. More importantly, these projects exposed him to the complexities of large-scale engineering and construction—from technical coordination and project execution to working with major clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
By the time Nishad decided to establish his own company, he was bringing together three valuable assets: hands-on technical expertise, project-management experience and an entrepreneur’s instinct for opportunity. That combination would eventually become the foundation of Al Mada Steel Fabrication and Engineering Co LLC.
Making of an Entrepreneur
He began his entrepreneurial journey on a modest scale, establishing his business in an 800 sq. m facility at Al Jafynayn, near Rusayl Industrial Estate, with a team of just six employees. In its early years, the company undertook projects including Sohar University, the Royal Court of Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Sports, with major main contractors.
Over the years, the venture steadily expanded in both scale and reputation, successfully completing more than 500 projects across Oman for government ministries and leading private-sector organisations.
Today, the company is actively engaged in major projects across Oman, supported by a growing team of more than 55 employees, including eight engineers, and operating from a 12,000 sq. m facility.

Passions and Family
Nishad, who received the Business Excellence Award from O J Janeesh, Minister of Sports, Youth Welfare, Registration and Archaeology in the Government of Kerala, has two passions—football and cricket. He is also a member of the Oman Krishi Kootam and Thrissur Association.
Nishad married Shajeena Nishad in 2007. A DMLT holder, Shajeena has been a constant source of support and encouragement in his personal and professional life.
The couple has two children. Their son, Shahzad Nishad, is studying in Class XI at Indian School Seeb, while their daughter, Ameenah Shaznah, is studying in Class IX.
