Noushad Kakkeri
CEO, Monipack
Morooj Nizwa International LLC
Sultanate of Oman
Wise counsel from experienced savants can work wonders in the lives of people with an attentive ear when they dare to act with confidence. One such go-getter is Noushad Kakkeri, the CEO of monipack , Morooj Nizwa International LLC, one of the premier manufacturer and distributor of disposable food packaging products in Oman. This young entrepreneur’s success saga is worth emulating as he heeded the advice of experienced professionals and strove hard to build a flourishing enterprise while remaining rooted to trust, credibility, and straightforwardness.
A Journey That Began in Chittariparamba
Noushad is from Chittariparamba in Kannur, where he was born to an Oman-based NRI, Muhammed Njalil who was running his own business, and Aysha Kakkeri, a homemaker. He did his schooling in Koothuparamba, and he still remembers with gratitude to his Mr Vasu, his teacher and mentor, who guided him and encouraged him to aim higher. After school, he moved to Oman in 1998 with his mother to join his father and pursue higher studies. At that time, his dad was in Ibra, running his own enterprise. When he turned 22, Noushad went to Muscat in search of a job. His smartness and determination fetched him his first job after his maiden interview. Thus, in 2004, he joined Backer Sulaiman Jaffer LLC, an FMCG company, as a Sales Representative in Nizwa. He was able to excel in his job thanks to the professional tips he received from his neighbours–Ms Josephine from Australia and Mr Lawrence, from Spain and who were working as professors at Nizwa University at that time. It was Mrs Josephine who gauged the depth of the passion and ability of Naushad and advised him to study further.
His uncanny ability to fetch business, hardworking nature, and zest to excel in his profession earned him the Best Sales Award every month, every quarter, and every year. In 2007, he decided to tender his resignation and search for greener pastures. But when he put in his papers, it was not accepted by the management, as they were impressed with his salesmanship, behavior, ability, dedication, and hard work. It was only two years later that he finally resigned, which proved to be a pivotal decision. It was in 2009 that he took the plunge into business by establishing Morooj Nizwa International LLC. When he quit in 2009, his mother was worried about his future as he had left a well-paying job. But now she realized that her son was right when he left the company back then. Noushad’s message to the youth is “Dream big, work hard. Don’t give up even if there are hurdles until you achieve the goal.”
