Anoop Subramanian

CEO, Subru Autoparts Muscat,

Director, Reflex Auto Parts, UAE

In the fast-evolving world of global trade, particularly in the highly competitive automobile aftermarket sector, success rarely comes overnight. It is usually a product of persistence, adaptability, and an unrelenting drive to seize opportunities across diverse markets. Few embody this spirit better than Anoop Subramanian, the dynamic CEO of Subru Autoparts, Muscat, and Director of Reflex Auto Parts in the UAE. From his beginnings in Thrissur to the leadership of businesses spanning the Gulf and beyond, Anoop’s journey is a tale of steady growth, resilience, and a keen ability to merge engineering expertise with entrepreneurial instincts.

Hailing from Chettupuzha in Thrissur district of Kerala, Anoop grew up in a family where business acumen and discipline were part of everyday life in Ibri, Al Dhahira with brother Arun Subramanian. His father, Subramanian K. R., founded and ran an auto parts business in Oman, while his mother, Ajitha Subramanian, anchored the family. It was perhaps this early exposure to commerce, coupled with a natural curiosity about machines, that shaped his future in both engineering and entrepreneurship.

Anoop’s schooling in Indian School Ibri, laid the foundation of his academic path. His aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving led him to pursue Mechanical Engineering at Anna University, Chennai, where he graduated with a B.E. degree in 2009. His time in Chennai was marked not only by rigorous academics but also by active participation in seminars and technical events, which sharpened his communication and organizational skills.

Determined to supplement his engineering knowledge with specialized training, he completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Software and CAD/CAM from the CADD Centre in 2011, where he also took up the responsibility of conducting seminars across Chennai. This early initiative revealed his ability to bridge technical expertise with leadership – a skill that would define his career trajectory.

Anoop’s career began in the IT-enabled services sector, where he worked as a Customer Support Officer with Allsec Technologies in Chennai in 2010, providing financial services support for Dell’s American clients. Though seemingly distant from his engineering roots, the stint gave him exposure to international clients, customer-centric processes, and the importance of clear communication – a lesson he carried forward into every role.

Later in 2010, he joined CADD Centre Training Services as a Project Management Trainee, gaining hands-on exposure to project planning tools such as Primavera. The move aligned closely with his technical training and prepared him for his first major engineering role.

In December 2010, Anoop joined AXIS IT & T Ltd. in Chennai as a Design Engineer, where he spent over two years working on product design and drafting for a wide range of mechanical components. His work involved designing complex castings, housings, cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, and sheet metal assemblies. This role not only honed his technical expertise but also demanded meticulous attention to detail and teamwork.

From 2011 to 2014, Anoop also collaborated with Caterpillar in Chennai, contributing to mechanical design engineering projects for one of the most respected global machinery brands. By this point, he had developed an enviable technical foundation across design, drafting, and project management, making him well-equipped for larger responsibilities.

In 2013, Anoop moved back to Kerala, joining UIT Group of Companies in Thrissur as a Planning Engineer and Project Coordinator. The company, known as the first franchisee of CADD Centre in Kerala, exposed him to both engineering project management and professional education. Here, Anoop worked on scheduling, cost estimation, and resource allocation for civil projects while also training students on Primavera and MSP software. His ability to blend technical delivery with people management became increasingly visible.

The next step came in 2014 when Anoop moved to Abu Dhabi, joining Giffin Traffiks LLC as a Project Executive. For nearly three years, he managed large-scale infrastructure projects, including the installation of commercial signage as per safety regulations. His responsibilities extended beyond execution into client management, billing, and ensuring repeat business. These years in the UAE gave him international exposure and practical lessons in project execution under tight regulatory frameworks.

In 2019, Anoop relocated to Muscat, Oman, joining Al Jassar Group (MEP) as a Sales Engineer, a role that connected him back to the Gulf’s thriving construction and engineering sectors. But more importantly, it was a steppingstone toward his own entrepreneurial ambitions.

The turning point in Anoop’s career came in August 2021, when he renamed and launched Subru Autoparts in Muscat, a company specializing in the distribution of automobile spare parts across Oman. Building on his father’s legacy in the auto parts business, Anoop brought fresh energy, new partnerships, and a global outlook to the enterprise.

Within just a few years, Subru Autoparts positioned itself as a trusted name in Oman’s competitive auto parts market, known for reliability, customer focus, and a wide network of suppliers. Anoop’s strategy of combining technical knowledge with a client-first business model helped the company stand out.

Recognizing the potential for expansion, he went on to establish Reflex Auto Parts in the UAE in 2023, targeting exports to Oman, Sudan, Africa, and Bahrain. This bold step signaled his evolution from a technically skilled engineer into a visionary entrepreneur scaling operations across borders.

Beyond business, Anoop remains an active member of several professional and social organizations, including the Indian Social Club Malwa Wing, Kerala Engineers Federation, and BNI. These associations reflect his belief in networking, knowledge sharing, and giving back to the community.

He also nurtures personal interests in theatre, arts and social networking, which lend balance to his otherwise business-intensive life.

Anoop’s personal life provides him with the anchor that keeps his professional journey grounded. He is married to Anjaly Ajay Ghosh, a B.Tech graduate from Vinayaka Mission Engineering College and an M.Tech holder from Karunya Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. Anjaly also serves as the social media coordinator for Anoop’s businesses, supporting the brand’s visibility and digital presence.

The couple has two children – Vedh, who is in the third grade at ISWK [Cambridge] School, Wadi Kabir, and Ira, their one-year-old daughter. Together, they represent the strong family foundation behind Anoop’s professional success.

From an engineer working on complex mechanical designs in Chennai to a business leader managing cross-border auto parts enterprises, Anoop Subramanian’s story is one of determination, versatility, and a deep-rooted entrepreneurial spirit. His ability to adapt across industries – from engineering design to project execution, sales, and ultimately business ownership – speaks volumes of his resilience and vision.

As he continues to scale Subru Autoparts and Reflex Auto Parts, Anoop is not merely running businesses but also shaping a legacy rooted in his family’s tradition of trade while infused with modern practices and global ambition. In the years to come, his name is likely to resonate not only within Oman and the UAE but also across the wider Middle Eastern and African automotive markets.
