Magzi Shipping and Logistics Services LLC
Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

For more than 25 years, Muscat-based entrepreneur Lijihas Ussain, popularly known as Liji, has played an important role in strengthening business and trade links between India and the Gulf region. A respected MICE facilitator, he is widely known for promoting India-focused exhibitions, India pavilions, and Indian products and services across Oman and the wider GCC.

Liji works closely with international and regional exhibition organizers as a strategic partner, supporting them with partner identification, marketing, advertising and printing, exhibition stall fabrication, and complete exhibition logistics. Over the years, he has become a trusted name for India-centric exhibitions and Exhibition Logistics in Oman.

From Creative Beginnings to Regional Influence

Born in Kannur, Kerala, Liji completed his graduation in Commerce and later earned a Master’s diploma in Visual Communication. He further strengthened his business skills by completing a Mini MBA ( 21 days ) through a short program sponsored by an embassy in Oman and hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce.

Driven by his passion for advertising and business strategy, Liji moved to Oman over 25 years ago. In 2002, he launched a small creative boutique—among the early expatriate-led ventures in this field. This marked the beginning of a journey that would later expand across multiple business sectors.

Championing India-Centric MICE facilitator

Liji was among the early professionals to recognize the potential for India-focused exhibitions in the Gulf. He facilitated some of the first Indian real estate and higher education exhibitions in Oman, working in collaboration with local organizers. These events received strong response from both industry and the public.

He later pioneered Medical Tourism Expos in the GCC, a first for the region. His efforts earned appreciation from leading Indian chambers of commerce and the Embassy of India in Muscat. Today, Liji continues to actively support and promote India pavilions at major exhibitions in Oman.

Liji has been part of the Omani medical tourism delegation on more than five occasions, working across different verticals.

Integrated MICE Solutions with a Diversified Business Portfolio

To offer complete solutions to the exhibition industry, Liji expanded into allied services. He founded Magzi Shipping, which specializes in exhibition logistics, project logistics, and customs clearance in Oman. Today, Magzi Shipping and Logistics is one of the largest freight and project forwarders based in Oman. The company specializes in project forwarding, exhibition logistics, and customs clearance, with a wide portfolio of clients in Oman and other parts of the world. Magzi also represents some well-known project networks in Oman.

His business portfolio also includes exhibition stall design and fabrication, event production and promotion, and digital and social media marketing. These services are offered under LYNX MICE. Lynx started as a small creative boutique in 2002 and later diversified its services into event production and exhibition stall fabrication. Today, LYNX MICE is a well-known brand in Oman.

Offset printing is handled under Orchid Printing Press. This business was started to support MICE facilitation, but it has now become a separate business entity with local partners. Orchid Offset Printing handles all kinds of offset printing and also has the latest short-run digital presses. These digital presses support small quantities and quick delivery, where the traditional offset printing process and time are not required.

Operating strictly as a MICE facilitator, he works alongside multiple organizers rather than acting as an event organizer himself. In addition, he has investments in trading businesses, adding further strength to his diversified portfolio.

Liji also serves as Country Manager for a major Qatar-based group, overseeing their local partner as country manager in Oman, and represents some of the Indian corporate companies in the country.

Family, Community, and Social Engagement

Lijihas strongly believes in family and community values. He credits his success to the support of his wife, Shabnam Mahfooza, who was born and raised in Oman. They have two children—Aasim Laisee, a Finance professional with Deloitte, and Azmi, a Class XII student at Indian School Muscat.

He is also the President and Co-founder of Dharmadam Friends, a charitable organization based in his hometown of Dharmadam, Kannur. The organization focuses on supporting financially backward students by providing educational assistance, career guidance, and skill development. Dharmadam Friends helps young people gain better education and prepares them to secure good jobs in today’s competitive world.

Promoting Sports and Youth Development

A strong supporter of sports, Liji is a board member of UTSC, a leading sports club and academy with a presence across South India and the GCC. UTSC actively promotes hockey and has organized several international hockey tournaments in collaboration with the Oman Hockey Association. These tournaments are approved by the Asian Hockey Federation and are among the largest hockey events in the MENA region.

The UTSC Academy trains more than 60 students at the grassroots level, focusing on developing young talent and preparing them to compete at national and international levels. UTSC teams regularly participate in tournaments in India and abroad, helping young players gain exposure and experience on larger platforms.

UTSC is well known in sports circles in the GCC and India for its passionate work. The organization has received recognition and appreciation from local bodies such as the Oman Hockey Association, the Asian Hockey Federation, and the Embassy of India.
