Manikkath Manohar
Manager
Al Anan Printing Press, Rusayl Industrial City, Muscat
In Oman’s dynamic business landscape, Al Anan Printing Press has built a reputation as one of the most trusted names in quality printing. At the core of this success is Manikkath Manohar, a seasoned professional whose career spans more than three decades in the industry. From his roots in Kerala to his leadership role in Al Anan Printing Press in Muscat’s Rusayl Industrial City, Manohar’s journey reflects resilience, foresight, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. As Printing Manager of Al Anan, he has combined technical expertise with business acumen, guiding the company to embrace cutting-edge technologies, expand its services, and consistently deliver precision-driven results for clients across sectors. His life is not just the story of a career, but a narrative that blends family values, professional growth, cultural passion, and community service.
Born in Guruvayoor in Thrissur district, Kerala, Manohar inherited a blend of discipline and compassion from his parents. His father, the late Kesavan Nair, was employed with the Guruvayoor Devasom, an institution that manages the affairs of one of India’s most iconic temples. His mother, Nanikutty Amma, a homemaker, nurtured the family with warmth, instilling in young Manohar values of humility and responsibility.
Academically, Manohar showed an early interest in commerce and technology. After completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree, he pursued a Diploma in Printing Technology, a choice that would later become the cornerstone of his professional success. Alongside academics, he nurtured personal passions — reading, drama, and social work — interests that gave him both creative depth and a sense of connection to society.
Like many ambitious youngsters of his generation, Manohar’s first foray into professional life took him outside Kerala. From 1984 to 1987, he worked with Global Travels in Mumbai, gaining exposure to the dynamics of a fast-paced metropolitan environment. The experience broadened his horizons, teaching him adaptability and giving him insight into customer service and organizational management.
But it was in 1988 that his true calling took shape. Manohar joined Al Anan Printing Press in Oman as Printing Manager — a role that perfectly aligned with his academic training and natural inclination towards detail-oriented work. What began as a career opportunity soon transformed into a lifelong association with one of Oman’s most reputed printing establishments.
Over the decades, Al Anan Printing Press has grown into a leading printing house in Oman, and Manohar has been an integral part of its journey. The press has become renowned for delivering high-quality printing solutions that combine cutting-edge technology with a craftsman’s touch. With more than 35 years of experience, over 500,000 completed projects, and a clientele that spans businesses and individuals alike, the press has carved out an enviable reputation.
Under Manohar’s stewardship, the company has consistently invested in advanced equipment to stay ahead of the curve. Its impressive portfolio includes the Heidelberg Speedmaster 5 Colour Press with Aqua Coater, high-speed digital presses for quick-turnaround jobs, the Heidelberg Stahlfolder for precision folding, and the Muller Martini Presto-II for high-speed saddle stitching. The adoption of Computer-to-Plate (CTP) technology and UV printing systems further reflects the press’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry innovation.
But technology alone does not build a legacy. At its core, Al Anan Printing Press thrives on its values: excellence, integrity, innovation, and customer focus. Manohar has been instrumental in embedding these principles into the company’s DNA. Every job, whether a large corporate project or a small personal order, is executed with the same attention to detail and passion for perfection.
The services offered span an impressive range — from books, magazines, and educational materials to business stationery, marketing collateral, reports, packaging, calendars, and diaries. Each category reflects the press’s adaptability and commitment to meeting the unique needs of diverse clients. Over the years, this versatility has ensured that Al Anan Printing Press is not just a service provider but a trusted partner in the branding and communication strategies of hundreds of businesses.
Beyond his professional accomplishments in printing, Manohar has also made a significant mark in Oman’s cultural and theatre scene. With a deep passion for literature and the performing arts, he has been actively involved with the Indian Social Club, serving as Joint Secretary of both the Kerala Wing Sahithya Vibhagam and the Malayalam Wing Sahithya Vibhagam. His leadership extended to “Idam,” where he helped organize folklore festivals and facilitated creative initiatives such as the translation of Arabic poetry into Malayalam, fostering cross-cultural appreciation.
In theatre, Manohar’s contributions have been both creative and organizational. His play Mamsaganitham won the award for Best Drama at the 2009 ISC Drama Fest, marking him as a serious force in the expatriate theatre movement. He has also collaborated with Theatre Oman, acting in and supporting productions such as Mathi, The Cage, and Thoma Kariya Kariya Thoma. Notably, he was instrumental in Theatre Oman’s ambitious Drama Fest at Al Falaj Hotel, which staged ten plays over two days. His creative pursuits further extended into filmmaking, with his short film Al Daleel – The Guide winning Best Short Film. Through drama, literature, and cultural events, Manohar continues to champion the arts in Oman.
He also plays a key role as the Treasurer of the Lions Club (2025-2026), balancing his corporate life with social service. These commitments highlight his belief that personal success is incomplete without giving back to society.
Manohar’s personal life is as fulfilling as his professional one. He is married to Reena Manohar, a supportive partner who has walked beside him through the many phases of his journey. Together, they have raised two accomplished daughters who reflect the family’s emphasis on education and ambition.
Their elder daughter, Arya, completed her B.Com degree from Rajagiri College and went on to pursue an MBA from Symbiosis University, one of India’s leading business schools. She is working with Capgemini Technology Services India Limited as a Senior Consultant. Arya is married to Aravind, who is employed with Federal Bank in Bandra, Mumbai, establishing a family branch that thrives in India’s financial hub.
Their younger daughter, Ardra, is currently in the final year of her MBBS at Yenepoya Medical College in Mangalore, Karnataka. With a future in medicine, she represents the next generation’s commitment to service and professional excellence.
From a young man starting out at Global Travels in Mumbai to a seasoned professional shaping the trajectory of Oman’s printing industry, Manikkath Manohar’s life has been a story of steady progress, guided by principles and powered by passion. His journey illustrates how dedication to craft, openness to technology, and a strong sense of values can create enduring success.
In a world where businesses often come and go with fleeting lifespans, Manohar’s journey reflects something rare — the creation of a sustainable legacy. With his family by his side, his cultural and social commitments enriching his life, and his professional achievements shining brightly, Manikkath Manohar stands as an inspiring example of how one individual can print not just paper, but a mark on history itself.
