For more than two decades, he has been the Managing Director of this prestigious establishment which is the one-stop shop for all spare parts of Japanese and Korean cars in the Sultanate. It is under his leadership that Al Amani has a pan-Oman presence today and is a force to reckon with in the automobile spare parts market.

Like Father, Like Son

Rathish has inherited the grit, prudence and zeal to lead the business enterprise from his illustrious father TV Rajan, who built the UAE-based Al Amani TVR Group of Companies from scratch. Forged in the furnace of hardship and the vicissitudes of life, Rajan deserves the credit for building his sprawling business enterprise with sheer hard work and determination overcoming all obstacles. His son too has inherited those traits and no wonder Al Amani counts nine showrooms in the Sultanate and more are in the pipeline.

Al Amani Modern Trading: Forging Ahead

Al Amani Modern Trading is part of the four-decades-old Amani TVR Group having more than 40 branches across the GCC. The establishment sells OEM-quality spare parts of Japanese and Korean cars across the country. Established by Rajan way back in 1978, the group is one of the pioneers in the automobile segment in the GCC. It is also one of the largest spare parts establishments in the region with a legacy that spans four decades.

It was in 2022, that Rathish was bestowed with the Golden Visa by the Omani government in recognition for his outstanding contribution to the growth of the nation’s economy within a short span of time. The visa was handed over to the entrepreneur par excellence by Yousuf Mohammed Sabil Al Zadjali, the Director of Al Amani Modern Trading, who has been a staunch pillar of support.

Artistic Pursuits

From childhood, Rathish has been blessed with artistic talents. Even in school in Dubai, he was a regular at art events and demonstrated his abilities. In 2012, he expanded his ambit by penning songs in Malayalam. Excelling in the art of mimicking, he showcased this unique talent on hundreds of stages in the country. Rathish also had his fair share of fame in tinsel town by acting in two movies.

Rathish debuted as a child artist in the Malayalam movie ‘Njangalude Kochu Doctor’ and later went on to essay a role in the flick ‘De Ingottu Nokkiye’. Perhaps, he has inherited his love for celluloid from his father, who is equally passionate about movies and has directed several Malayalam flicks directed by the legendary Balachandra Menon. Rathish is almost like a permanent fixture when it comes to donning the garb of the legendary emperor Mahabali during Onam celebrations, lending a touch of mirth and joie de vivre to the festivities as well as in Malayalam top radio hit 96.7 FM.

Rathish has also penned about 15 songs for the album ‘Mars’ featuring singers Jayachandran, Venugopal, MG Sreekumar, Biju Narayanan, Madhu Balakrishnan, Sudeep Kumar, Najeem Harshad, Jyotsna, Harini and Shweta Menon.

Family

Born in Elavumthitta in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, to Rajan and Ajitha, Rathish is happily married to Swathy, a homemaker. The couple is blessed with a daughter Neelambari, a Class IX student, and sons Gajananan in Class V and Govardhan, who is in Class III.
