Sabri Parambath Kandi Harid
Chairman
Sabries Group,
Oman, UAE & India
In the vibrant and competitive business landscape of the Gulf, few journeys capture the spirit of determination and reinvention quite like that of Sabri Parambath Kandi Harid. From humble beginnings shaped by hard work and a relentless desire to grow, he has risen to become a respected name in Oman’s corporate circles. Today, as a seasoned leader with a track record of steering companies toward growth and sustainability, Sabri embodies the qualities of adaptability, vision, and perseverance. His story is not just one of professional milestones but also of a deep commitment to building meaningful connections, nurturing teams, and creating value that resonates well beyond the balance sheet. Every chapter of his career reflects a bold readiness to embrace change, seize opportunities, and lead with integrity in an ever-evolving market.
Sabri was born into a home where values and discipline held pride of place. His father, the late P.K. Harid, served as a vigilant officer at the Oriental Insurance Company in Ernakulam, while his mother, Adhabiya, dedicated her life to nurturing the family. He pursued his education with focus and earned his Bachelor of Commerce from Manjeri NSS College in 1991. Even in his student days, those who knew him sensed his quiet ambition, his appetite for learning, and a willingness to work hard—traits that would define his journey.
In 1993, like many young men from Kerala seeking opportunities beyond India’s shores, Sabri moved to Muscat, Oman. His first professional role was with Jan Jowharath Al Faiha, where he remained until 1997. Those years were a crucial apprenticeship—introducing him to the Gulf’s fast-paced business environment and teaching him the value of persistence in an increasingly competitive market.
He then joined German Tech Fibre Glass as a sales executive, working from 1997 to 1998. The job was brief but enriching, sharpening his skills in client engagement and product sales.
Sabri’s real breakthrough came in June 1998, when he joined Mohammed Al-Ruzaiqy & Partners as a Business Development Officer. Over the next five years, he immersed himself in Oman’s civil contracting and infrastructure sectors, forging relationships that would later become invaluable. It was here that he understood a core business truth: strong networks, a reputation for reliability, and consistent quality are the lifeblood of any enterprise.
By 2003, Sabri was ready to bet on himself. Drawing on his industry experience and business acumen, he founded Sabries LLC in Oman. What began as a modest venture quickly gained recognition as one of the leading pipeline emergency contractors in the Sultanate, specializing in potable water, treated effluent, and sewerage networks.
Winning emergency maintenance contracts from Oman’s Ministry was a landmark moment. Over time, Sabries LLC expanded into road projects and building construction, such as the notable developments in Al Khoud. The company also secured contracts from Oman’s Ministry of Water (NAMA) for sewage and effluent treatment—cementing its position as a trusted player in the sector.
Sabri understood early that the key to lasting success was diversification. His next foray was Sabries Health Care, a growing network of medical facilities in Oman. Under this banner came a Referral Laboratory in Azaiba; Polyclinics in Nizwa and Muttrah; and Visa Medical Centers in Muttrah, Azaiba, Nizwa, and Al Hail. These facilities became vital community touchpoints, combining accessibility with quality healthcare.
The group soon ventured into hospitality with Sabries Hospitalities LLC, introducing distinctive brands such as The Gardens by Sabries (Rusayl); Flavours by Sabries (Mawelah) and Cafe Coffee (Al Hail)
In the trading sector, Al Jumadha Frozen Food Trading became another solid pillar, focusing on food supply and distribution.
The year 2021 marked a new chapter. Sabri brought his entrepreneurial energy back to India, launching Hot Spot Restaurants at Kalyan Nagar and HSR Layout in Bangalore and Fort Kochi. Alongside this came Derma Glow Cosmetology Clinic in Palarivattom, offering advanced skin, dental, and hair care services.
Education was next on his list. The acquisition and development of Craft World School in Ernakulam—an ICSE and Cambridge syllabus institution—reflected his belief in nurturing the next generation with modern learning tools and holistic development.
In 2022, the group entered Dubai with a strong presence in the food industry—Sabries Food Trading, Sabries Catering, and Sabries Restaurant—as well as Saj Saj Food Distribution and a POS (Point of Sales) factory catering to retail technology needs.
Craft World School in Cochin is more than an educational institution; it’s a statement of Sabri’s vision for youth development. The school prides itself on being purely inclusive and vibrant, with an approach that encourages self-reliance, creativity, and confidence. State-of-the-art learning technologies and experienced educators guide students toward becoming well-rounded, socially responsible citizens.
From early literacy and numeracy to social-emotional growth, Craft World equips its learners not just for academic excellence but for real-world challenges—aligning perfectly with Sabri’s philosophy of creating future leaders, not just graduates.
Today, the Sabries Group of Companies employs over 1,000 people across the UAE, Oman, and India. The workforce is a rich mix of nationalities—India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Sudan, Egypt, and Bangladesh—mirroring the group’s inclusive culture.
Sabri’s leadership style blends decisiveness with empathy. He is known for empowering his teams, fostering innovation, and rewarding loyalty. His businesses operate with a focus on quality, adaptability, and sustainable growth—principles that have carried the group through global economic shifts.
Sabri is married to Shaly Sabri, his steadfast partner through the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. The couple is blessed with three children: Aamna Zemrine, their eldest, holds a BA in Journalism from Kristu Jayanti College, Bangalore, and now manages the family’s Kaitharam property in Kochi alongside Craft World School; Aliya Zama, their second daughter, is in Class 11 at Gems School, Kakkanad; and son Omer Salman, their youngest, is in Grade 8 at the same school.
Beyond business, Sabri is an avid reader, constantly seeking fresh perspectives from books that range from biographies to business strategy.
In 2023, Sabri formally took on the role of Chairman of the Sabries Group of Companies. The title was not merely ceremonial—it marked the consolidation of two decades of entrepreneurial effort into a single, coherent corporate identity spanning infrastructure, healthcare, hospitality, trading, education, and real estate.
From his modest beginnings in Ernakulam to steering a multinational conglomerate, Sabri Parambath Kandi Harid’s journey is a testament to grit, adaptability, and vision. Each business he has built is rooted in a deep understanding of the market, a willingness to innovate, and an unshakable commitment to quality.
His life’s work reflects not just the story of a man who chased opportunities but of one who created them—for himself, for his employees, and for the communities his businesses serve. In a world where many companies chase short-term gains, Sabri’s philosophy stands apart: to build enterprises that endure, adapt, and give back.
And as the Sabries Group continues to expand across continents, Sabri Harid remains at the helm—calm, focused, and always looking ahead.
