Beyond IT, Mr. Hassan also plays a vital role in media as the Resident Manager of Media ONE TV and Gulf Madhyamam in Oman. His multi-faceted contributions to both technology and communication platforms underscore a rare blend of business leadership and cultural engagement.

Born in Kochi, Kerala, Shakeel Hassan’s academic pursuits reflected the hallmark of a disciplined and ambitious mind. After completing his early education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, and pre-university studies at the prestigious Maharaja’s College in Kochi, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering with distinction from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut. He followed this up with a Diploma in Production Management from Annamalai University, a decision that would prove prescient in his future endeavours.
Shakeel Hassan’s leadership potential was evident early in his academic journey. During his time at the Regional Engineering College (REC) Calicut, he was elected Chairman of the College Students’ Union for the academic year 1986–87. In this role, he represented a diverse and dynamic student body that spanned the breadth of India—from Kashmir to Kerala—demonstrating his ability to unite and lead across cultural and regional lines.

As a student leader, Shakeel played an active role in academic and administrative affairs. He worked closely with key institutional and government figures, including the then Education Minister of Kerala, K. Chandrasekharan, who also served as the ex officio Chairman of the REC Board of Governors. He also engaged with the Vice-Chancellor of Calicut University, T.N. Jayachandran, IAS. Throughout his tenure, Shakeel held several high-level discussions and meetings—both at the Minister’s Secretariat office and on the REC campus—advocating for student interests and contributing to the broader development of the institution.
Mr. Hassan’s professional journey began in 1989 with Commercial Automobiles Pvt. Ltd, a premier distributor of Tata Motors in India. As a Sales and Marketing Engineer, Mr. Hassan’s strategic insight and innovative approach helped push the firm to the forefront of Tata’s national distribution network. From there, he moved to Apollo Tyres, where he brought order and efficiency to production systems, managed large teams, and was instrumental in streamlining tyre manufacturing operations using American technology—a demonstration of his cross-functional prowess at a young age.

Mr. Hassan’s entrepreneurial voyage took flight in 1991, when he shifted to the United Arab Emirates. His appointment as General Manager at Capital Computers and Capsoft LLC marked the beginning of a bold new chapter. He led the charge in transforming these firms into pioneering IT distribution and system integration powerhouses across the Gulf. From expanding operations to Muscat and Sharjah to launching flagship IT products and participating in global tech expos such as GITEX, Dubai and CeBIT, Hannover, Germany, Mr. Hassan displayed an uncanny ability to identify growth opportunities and act on them with precision.
Strategic partnerships with industry giants like Microsoft, HP, Adobe, Dell, Oracle, and Cisco were formed under his stewardship. Capital Computers and Capsoft, under Mr. Hassan’s leadership, became synonymous with innovation, reliability, and market agility.



In 2000, Mr. Hassan took the helm at Gulf Worldwide FZE in Jebel Ali, Dubai, where he launched the now-renowned Rhombus brand of IT products. Within seven months, Rhombus was introduced to the market, and soon after, expanded across the Middle East and Iran. Mr. Hassan spearheaded collaborations with manufacturing hubs in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, skillfully tailoring Rhombus products to match evolving customer expectations.




His success continued at DTK Computer FZE, where he served as Territory Manager for the MENA region. Mr. Hassan left an indelible mark on East Africa’s IT market, orchestrating landmark deals and forging inroads into regions like Kazakhstan, Oman, and Qatar.
In 2004, Mr. Hassan joined Al Sayegh Brothers Computers LLC as General Manager, where he led a dynamic team across the UAE and broader Middle East. His deft negotiations brought elite IT brands such as LG, NORTEK, Manhattan, and Intracom into the region, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a tech distribution giant.



Not content with resting on past laurels, Mr. Hassan diversified further by joining Allstar Trading Co. and Unipack FZE. As Director of Operations, he successfully bridged professional AV equipment and foodstuff industries, drawing on his extensive experience to help these ventures carve out competitive niches in the Gulf and Azerbaijan markets.
He later played a crucial role at Lake Oil Group’s transport division in Tanzania, where he managed large-scale logistics for petroleum transportation across East and Central Africa. From Zambia to Congo, his strategic interventions ensured operational efficiency across challenging terrains.





Today, as Managing Director of Teratec LLC, Mr. Shakeel Hassan leads one of the most respected IT service providers in the Gulf. Founded in 2008, Teratec has grown into a top-tier systems integrator and solutions provider, serving corporate and institutional clients with cutting-edge technology, efficient service infrastructure, and deep technical expertise. Mr. Hassan has helped position Teratec as a trusted partner in the region’s digital transformation journey.



Simultaneously, his leadership role as Resident Manager for Media ONE TV and Gulf Madhyamam in Oman exemplifies his versatility. Since 2017, he has overseen media operations with strategic oversight, bringing Malayali voices and narratives to the forefront in Oman and the Gulf.

Mr. Shakeel Hassan is a recipient of several awards in social service and humanitarian activities from government agencies in the UAE – Red Crescent Society of UAE, Dubai Police Director General headquarters, Dubai Central Jail headquarters, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department [IACAD], and the Department of Health, Dubai.
He had worked closely with the Indian consulate in Dubai in the areas of humanitarian activities and community welfare and got commendation from Dubai Consul General’s office on several occasions.



In 2019, the Muscat Municipality honoured him with a Special award for outstanding contribution in organising Muscat Festival – 2019.
Mr. Hassan is also the recipient of the first Prem Nazeer Madhyama Shreshta Award in 2024, Oman, from Dr.Rasool Pookkutty for outstanding contribution in the media field in the Sultanate of Oman.


Despite his global professional presence, Mr. Hassan remains deeply connected to his roots. His family hails from Kochi. His late father K. Hassan retired as Grade-1 Provident Fund Commissioner in Delhi, and his mother, Zuhara Hassan is a homemaker. He is married to Shabeera Shakeel, a structural engineer and partner at Teratec LLC. Their daughter, Dr.Fareeha Shakeel is pursuing MD – post graduation in pediatrics – at Government Medical College, Kozhikode, after earning MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Trivandrum securing 1st rank. She is married to Dr.Azhar Mohammed, doing MS – post graduation in ophthalmology [Edinburg University,UK] at the prestigious Abate Eye Hosptial, Kozhikode.
