An entrepreneur, technologist, and community contributor, Sherry stands as Owner & Director of Veritas Trading International, founded in January 2022, and formerly as Co-Founder and Profit Center Head of Al Hajiry Information Technology, the IT and telecom arm of the Al Hajiry Group. Over the years, he has overseen critical infrastructure projects, mentored teams, and contributed to society through education and professional networks.
Education and values
Sherry hails from Aluva, Kerala, where discipline and learning were central to his upbringing. His father, the late Johny Thomas, was a schoolteacher, while his mother, Mary Johny, devoted herself to family life. From them, Sherry inherited a blend of rigour, humility, and perseverance that continues to shape his professional and community outlook. He graduated with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur (University of Calicut).
Anticipating the need for continuous learning in IT and telecom, later he pursued professional credentials including Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) from the Uptime Institute, USA; Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) from BICSI, USA; Data Centre Design training from Capitoline, UK; and BICSI-DC110 Data Center Design from Schnabel Academy, Germany. These qualifications placed him among a select group trained to design enterprise information transport systems and physical data centre infrastructure to international standards, strengthening his ability to execute projects where reliability is mission-critical.
Career milestones
His career began as a trainee engineer in Ernakulam (1994–95). At Berger Paints (1995–97), as Sales Engineer, he learned to balance technical accuracy with customer needs. In Bahrain with Venus Office Systems (1997–99), his scope expanded to office automation and IT systems. At Al Majid Group (1999–2003), he grew into a professional capable of translating complex client requirements into dependable IT deployments.
In 2003, he joined the Al Hajiry Group in Oman, where he spent 19 years helping establish and expand its IT and telecom subsidiary. As Co-Founder and Profit Center Head of Al Hajiry Information Technology, he contributed to building the company into a reliable solutions provider across the Sultanate. His responsibilities covered strategy, general management, turnkey projects, partnerships, and technology leadership, always with an emphasis on disciplined execution and client trust. The Al Hajiry Group, one of Oman’s diversified conglomerates with interests spanning engineering, construction, logistics, and industry, provided the platform for Sherry to refine his vision of enterprise IT services anchored in scalability and reliability.
In 2022, he founded Veritas Trading International, where he leads a team specialising in Data Networking, Data Centre Infrastructure, Telecom Infrastructure, ELV Systems for Physical Security, Video and Audio Systems, Wireless LAN, Smart Screens for education and training, as well as Building and Campus Automation. The company has developed a diversified portfolio across specialised engineering domains, offering industrial electronics solutions and services with a presence in the UAE, India, and Bahrain. Veritas also serves as a distributor of indoor and outdoor LED screens and displays, and provides innovative radiative cooling solutions across Oman, UAE, and Qatar. At Veritas, Sherry continues to emphasise practical, quality-driven services that support clients throughout their technology lifecycle. His leadership combines technical expertise with a steady, results-oriented approach, fostering long-term partnerships and trust with clients.
Committed to Social Values
Sherry’s professional credibility is complemented by a strong sense of civic duty. Even during his college days, he was active in student politics, which laid the foundation for his social engagement. He represented Government Engineering College, Thrissur, in the University of Calicut Student Council for two years (1990–1992) and went on to serve as Chairman of the College Union during 1992–1993.
After entering his career, Sherry continued to contribute to society in meaningful ways. He served as a judge at the Muscat Science Fest, inspiring young minds to engage with science and technology. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Management Committee of Indian School Muscat, and in 2024, he assumed the position of Vice President. His work there reflects his belief that the success of individuals and communities depends as much on strong education as it does on technology. He also actively supports professional and regional networks, such as the Thrissur Engineering College Alumni Association, where he serves as an Executive Committee Member.
Beyond work and community, Sherry’s interests include social service, travelling, and reading, which keep him engaged with people and ideas beyond the boundaries of his profession.
Sherry is married to Sindhu Palathingal, an artist trained at Kalabhavan, who is exploring and pursuing different styles of painting and exhibited her works in many art exhibitions. Their elder son, John Sherry, has completed his B.Tech and is currently interning, while their younger son, Joseph Sherry, is pursuing his Plus Two studies. The family’s blend of technology and the arts reflects Sherry’s belief that infrastructure and culture are both essential pillars of community life.
