His late parents, Chandra Warrier and Sarala Bhai, nurtured in him a quiet determination that would go on to define his character. With a background in commerce and additional diplomas in systems management and shipping management, Unni Krishnan built a solid academic foundation to enter the complex and dynamic logistics industry.
His career set sail in 1991 with the Tata Group’s shipping division—PATVOLK. As a young executive, he was thrown into the deep end of a highly competitive and operationally demanding environment. Yet, it was here that Unni’s natural flair for managing processes and people began to shine. Over the years, his diligence and results-driven approach propelled him upward, and by 1998, he had become Manager at PATVOLK, a role in which he earned the Best Performer Award—an early testament to his leadership and strategic insight.
In 2002, he joined Barwill Forbes, later renamed as Wilhelmsen Ships Service, a globally respected maritime group headquartered in Norway, assuming the role of Shipping Manager. Over a period of 14 years, Unni rose steadily within the organization, eventually becoming the Country Manager (Maritime Logistics) in Mumbai, Bahrain and Oman. It was during this phase that he refined his leadership approach and gained international exposure. At Wilhelmsen, his ability to solve logistical challenges creatively earned him the Best Innovative Person Award, further affirming his reputation as a forward-thinking professional. In 2016, after successfully completing his assignment with Wilhelmsen, Unni moved to Oman—a country poised at the crossroads of international trade and a burgeoning logistics hub.
In 2018, Unni Krishnan took on a new chapter as Director and General Manager at Ocean Gulf Agencies LLC (OGA) in Muscat. It marked the beginning of an impactful tenure where Unni’s decades of experience met a company eager to innovate and grow under his guidance. Under his strategic direction, OGA expanded its service capabilities and global presence, evolving into a name synonymous with reliability, customization, and technological advancement in the shipping and logistics domain.

Unni Krishnan is married to Maya Unnikrishnan and the couple has two children. Their son, Rahul Warrier, who has a BBA, CLIT (UK) (the chartered institute of logistics and transport from United Kingdom) and Diploma in Marketing, is in an assistant manager at Ocean Gulf Agencies. Their daughter, Pooja Warrier, is a chartered accountant working as a Relationship Manager (Wholesale) with ICICI, Mumbai.
