Rajan V. Kokkuri is an accomplished writer, who believes that “Writing is the art of breathing life into words, crafting worlds where imagination reigns, and giving voice to the silent echoes of the soul.” Born in Attoor village in Kerala’s Thrissur district, he is working in the Oil and Gas as a Lead Process Designer. Mr. Rajan was raised in a family with strong values, and his parents, Villadath Sankaran Nair an Ex-Serviceman and V.K.  Janaki Amma, instilled in him the virtues of service and dedication. A successful professional, his passion transcends the boundaries of engineering, and he is also a prolific writer and a voracious reader.

After his schooling at a high school in Cheruthuruthy near Kerala Kalamandalam, he moved to Bangalore with his parents and elder brother. Later, he pursued an ITI certification, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Diploma in Business Management from IMC, Mumbai. His professional career started in India, where he worked with companies such as BPL India, Eiko Computers, and SAM Power & Systems, marking a significant foundation for his career. Rajan V Kokkuri authored  BPL employees book “Born to Dream” which tells the story of 3 founders of BPL Group namely Sri TPG Nambiar, KPR Nambiar and MA Uppal. It was the boom Computer industry in Bangalore.

In 1990’s when the Prestigious TVS group announced that an R&D centre for their new electronic co. TVSE Limited in Bangalore, Mr. Rajan was chosen to become a Member – R&D the core hi-tech team of computer hardware and software engineering team. Rajan was trained in CAE/CAD systems and he grew very well in professional position.

In 1992, Mr. Rajan transitioned to the Gulf countries, where his career in the oil and gas industry truly flourished. Starting as a CAD Engineer with Zamel & Turbag Consulting Engineers (ZATE) in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, he played a key role in the Saudi Aramco Ras Tanura Refinery upgrade project along with USA engineering giant Brown and Root team of Engineers.

Worley’s lengthy 15-year tenure included a lengthy secondment to the PDO Feed office later on. In the Feed Process Design teams of significant PDO projects, Rajan had key roles to play. He started working in the Oil & Gas project division of the Galfar Group in 2023.

Mr. Rajan’s commitment to social work is evident in his active involvement with the World Malayalee Federation (WMF). His leadership roles within WMF have included Global Malayalam Forum Coordinator (2024-26), Middle East Vice-President (2022-23), Middle East Malayalam Forum Coordinator (2020-21), and Oman Malayalam Coordinator (2019-20).

Rajan has written numerous articles in WMF’S Viswa Kairalee magazine apart from being a member of editorial staff.

He has also organized as Convenor for cultural events in Muscat with participation of famous playback singers like G. Venugopal, Krishnachandran under the banner of ‘Madhurima Muscat’ and ‘Upasana Muscat’.

In 2017, inspired by the heart-warming tale of a couple’s living on the footpath near Sree Guruvayoor temple. The couple’s struggle in life and re-union with nine-year old missing son touched the heart of Rajan and he scribbled this story during his return train journey from Guruvayoor to Thrissur. Mr. Rajan’s his first English story was published on “The Logical Indian” website. Rajan never looked back and pursued his writer’s journey. Subsequently, WorthingFlash, a UK website, requested Rajan’s limited 50,100,1000 word stories

The first Malayalam story, “Ammakku Vendi,” was published by Rajan in the Viswakairalee magazine of WMF. It went on to become a highly viewed Facebook audio story.

Mr. Rajan’s debut poem, “Ponmande Oru Swapnam”, inspired by the late author Madhavikutty, was published in Viswa Kairalee Magazine in 2022.

Kokkuri’s books include: ‘I Remain Forever Yours (story of an orphan girl), ‘My Precious Dreams’ (The Rare Footsteps-story of his father and 3 other stories based on true events), ‘The Invisible Love (collection of 10 stories)’, and ‘Born to Dream’ (Memories of BPL Employees). Mr. Rajan’s works have been featured in magazines such as Taare Zameen Par on a regular basis since 2021.

Rajan was given a fantastic opportunity in April 2023 to compile a book in Malayalam called “Manamulla Mazheluzhuthu.” A book written by seventy Pravasi authors.

Rajan V Kokkuri has been featured in the latest book “CHANGEMAKERS” published by Onlooker Publications, UK.

His literary contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Bharat Sevak Award by Central Bharat Sevak Samaj and the Certificate of Best Literary Writing by Kavita Literary Arts and Culture Venue, Punalur, Weekly English Poetry award by Delhi Poetry Slam. His writings have been featured in publications such as London Global, Mt. Kenya Times, Muscat Daily, Oman Observer, and Gulf Madhyamam. Over 3.6 lakh readers have access to Rajan’s content on the social media platform Quora. The popular audio drama podcast stories “Prisoners Daughter” and “I Remain Forever Yours” are enjoyed by listeners worldwide.

Mr. Rajan’s spouse, Anitha Rajan a B Com graduate from Jyothi Nivas college, Bangalore is a home maker with passion for painting, acting cover songs, 2 drama, 2 films, various short films and also a trained Chenda performer.  Anitha stood firmly with Rajan during his career & his journey in the field of literature. The couple are very popular in the social, circle of Muscat and are members of various social/charity groups. The couple enjoys travelling and has toured around the World. Rajan claims that his writing, which aims to establish a connection between the people he meets on his travels, is inspired by his travels. In Taare Zameen Par, Rajan wrote about an elderly Romanian couple who accompanied him on a trip to the United States. The couple got married after meeting during an earthquake. Like the earthquake story, Rajan tries to write genuine, heartwarming, and inspirational stories based on actual occurrences.

The couple has two sons. Rahal Rajan, his eldest, holds a Bachelor of Engineering from BMSCE, a Master of Technology from UPES, and a Master of Science from University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom. Rahul Rajan is currently employed with JUSPAY in Bangalore as a Director. Rahul’s wife Shalini holds a Ms from VIT Vellore. Nikhil Rajan, his younger son, is a B. Tech Mechanical Engineering graduate from NIT Trichy and has a Master of Science from very reputed Smeal college of Business – The Pennsylvania State University, USA. He is employed at Axtria in California.

 

Rajan usually connects his poetry to people, places, and motivational ideas. Soon, Kokkuri’s eagerly anticipated first Malayalam book, “NAN ENNUMM NINDE MATHRAM,” should be published.

Kokkuri was offered the chance to contribute a chapter on global perspectives in business environment-1 to the management textbook used by Bharatmata College in Ernakulam, Thrikkakara.

Rajan Kokkuri envisions a world free of man-made tragedies and hopes to write inspirational essays and stories that will contribute to global development.
