He is the Managing Director of Saham Samhan Trading and Contracting Co LLC, which is known for pre-engineered buildings, hot-rolled structures, and steel edifices.
From Kunnamkulam to Salalah
Abdul was born in Kunnamkulam in Thrissur District to the late Abdul Khader and the late Amina. After schooling, he earned a degree in Commerce. It was in 1989 that he reached the shores of Salalah, where he joined his brother-in-law. He remained with him for 14 years. It was in 2006 that he started his own enterprise. It had a modest beginning, and it first landed a Galfar contract. He also undertook several subcontracts to set up camps, workers’ lodging facilities, and steel works.
The Galfar project took him all over Oman. Over the years, he learned welding, fabrication, and obtained a driving licence.

Established in 2004, Saham Samhan Tradings and Contracting LLC is one of the leading firms in steel fabrication in Oman. It specialises in pre-engineered buildings, hot-rolled structures and structural steel works. Spread across 7,500 square metres, the facility sports advanced machinery such as CNC plasma cutting, heavy-duty shearing, bending, rolling, and cutting machines, apart from a machine shop. There are qualified and well-experienced engineers to deliver projects on time.
Some of the prestigious projects include the factory of Al Khanjar Perfume, factory of Advanced American Solar Energy, warehouse for Hamood Al Hajj at Salalah, warehouse for Bait Al Shai, office cabin at Port of Salalah, main warehouse expansion of Oman Pharmaceutical Products, car parking at Gardens Hotel in Salalah, walkway at Yibal Khuff Galgar Camp area, entrance of Sadha City Mall, Sadha Stadium, ROP vehicle scanning at Mazyona Border Post, walkway at Salalah Airport, major structural works at Duqm, and the inspection facility on the Oman-Saudi border at Rub Al Khali to name a few.
The company has three factories, and they are located in Salalah, Sanaya, and Samail, with 120 staff members.
Family and Passion
He is married to Shamla, and the couple is blessed with two children. Shehin, who is an MBA holder, is working in Abu Dhabi National Oil Company with her husband, Asif, who is an engineer. They have two girls Inara, who is in Class V, and Yusra, who is four years old. Abdul’s second daughter, Nourin, is a BCom Honors gold medallist, and she has an ACCA from Dubai. She is currently working at Secure Tag, an auditing firm in Muscat. Abdul is also a philanthropist who lends a helping hand to the underprivileged.
