Raju Menon
Founder, Chairman and Managing Partner
Kreston Menon Group

Raju Menon’s life traces a remarkable journey. From his beginnings in Kerala to building a professional services presence spanning the UAE, Oman, India and beyond, his career reflects a willingness to pursue opportunity, adapt to changing markets and turn ambitious ideas into enduring institutions.

As Founder, Chairman and Managing Partner of Kreston Menon Group, he has guided the organisation from a modest accounting practice into a multidisciplinary audit, advisory and consulting group serving businesses across the Middle East and India. Its evolution mirrors Raju’s own entrepreneurial journey—marked by calculated expansion, diversification, strategic partnerships and a continuing search for more effective ways to serve clients across different markets.
Kreston Menon Al Dohh
For more than three decades, Raju Menon has built enterprises around a simple but demanding instinct: to recognise possibility and then create the organisation capable of pursuing it.
Today, that journey finds a new expression in the Sultanate of Oman with the formation of Kreston Menon Al Dohh, bringing together two recognised professional services brands—Kreston Menon and Ali Al Dohh and Co Public Accountants.

Established in 2009, Ali Al Dohh and Co. has developed a substantial understanding of the Omani business landscape through its audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. Its clientele ranges from international companies to small and medium-sized enterprises, with particular strength among family-owned businesses, industrial groups and regulated entities. Its experience extends across manufacturing, shipping and logistics, retail and distribution, construction, education, healthcare and other sectors central to the Sultanate’s economy.
Kreston Menon brings a complementary history. What began in Dubai in 1994 as a small audit practice has grown into a multidisciplinary professional services organisation of more than 500 professionals, with operations across the UAE, India and the GCC. Over the years, its expertise has broadened from audit into taxation, business advisory, corporate services, compliance, transaction advisory, corporate finance, technology consulting and cybersecurity.

The firm’s progress has brought significant recognition. Kreston Menon has been recognised as a ‘Superbrand’ for 13 consecutive years by the UAE Superbrands Council, an achievement that reflects the strength and consistency of the brand it has built over more than three decades.
The firm will work closely with diplomatic missions, trade bodies and other stakeholders to help attract foreign direct investment (FDI) into Oman, while supporting international investors seeking to establish and develop their operations in the country. Through this engagement, Kreston Menon Al Dohh aims to serve not only as a professional adviser, but also as a facilitator connecting global businesses with the opportunities emerging in the Omani market.
The formation of Kreston Menon Al Dohh is therefore more than the joining of two names. It is the convergence of Kreston Menon’s regional and international capabilities with Ali Al Dohh’s established presence, relationships and understanding of Oman—a partnership shaped around complementary strengths and a shared commitment to professional excellence.
For Raju, it is also the latest expression of an entrepreneurial philosophy formed over a lifetime.
To understand it, one must travel back several decades, to a quiet village in Kerala.
The Beginnings
Raju Menon grew up in Edavilangu, amid Kerala’s greenery and the measured rhythms of village life. His parents were hardworking people who placed enduring value on knowledge, integrity, compassion and discipline. The world in which he grew up was far removed from the international business centres in which he would later work, but many of the principles that shaped his career were formed there.
He developed an early appetite for learning, particularly in accounting and law. He pursued Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Commerce before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Recognising that commerce could not be understood through numbers alone, he also earned an LLB, gaining an understanding of the legal structures within which businesses operate.
His professional and academic credentials would eventually include MCom, LLB, CA, CPA and FAIA. More important than the qualifications themselves, however, was the discipline behind them.
Education became for Raju not a stage to be completed, but a lifelong discipline. Even after decades in practice, he continues to attend courses and workshops on emerging business trends and technologies, including artificial intelligence, keen to understand the forces reshaping the audit and advisory profession. This intellectual curiosity has remained a constant throughout his career: the belief that experience is valuable, but never a substitute for continuing to learn.
His professional life began in Mumbai with A.F. Ferguson & Co. Chartered Accountants, one of India’s historic accounting firms where he encountered the rigour and standards of an established professional practice.
Then, in 1991, he made the decision that would alter the course of his life. He moved to Dubai.
An Entrepreneur in the Making
The Dubai of 1990s was a city gathering momentum, its ambitions becoming increasingly visible in the pace of commerce around it.
For a young Chartered Accountant arriving from India, it offered opportunity without guarantees. Raju initially worked with an established audit firm, learning the contours of the UAE’s evolving commercial environment and developing an understanding of businesses growing alongside the city.
By 1994, he was ready to build something of his own.
With a team of just three people, he established a chartered accountancy practice. Initially known as R Menon & Associates, it evolved over the years into Morison Menon Chartered Accountants.
Its growth was not the result of one dramatic breakthrough. It accumulated gradually: clients won, professionals recruited, capabilities added and opportunities pursued. That patient process of institution-building would become characteristic of Raju’s career.
In 2018 came another decisive step. The organisation joined Kreston Global and was subsequently rebranded as Kreston Menon.
By then, what Raju had begun as a small practice had acquired an identity far beyond its origins. Its development reflected not only the extraordinary transformation of the UAE but also his ability to adapt the business to an increasingly complex commercial environment.
Beyond the Familiar
As the organisation matured, the instinct that had first taken Raju Menon from Kerala to Mumbai and then Dubai began to find expression in other markets and industries.
In India, IPIX Technologies broadened his entrepreneurial interests into technology, while establishment of Kreston Menon Kochi reflected his ability to rethink the traditional operating model of a professional services firm. Conceived as an extension of the Group’s Middle East practice, the Kochi office created a cost-efficient delivery platform by drawing on Kerala’s strong pool of young accounting professionals. Working closely with teams in the region, these professionals support audit assignments for Middle East clients, enabling Kreston Menon to combine quality and professional rigour with greater operational efficiency. The initiative demonstrated how geographical expansion could serve not only market growth, but also a more agile and sustainable way of delivering professional services. Venturing into Qatar and Oman further reflected a determination to explore opportunities beyond the UAE.
These experiences taught him that expansion is not a matter of reproducing what succeeded in one place and expecting identical results elsewhere. Markets possess their own commercial cultures, institutions and relationships. Understanding those differences became increasingly important to the way he approached growth.
That experience gives particular meaning to the formation of Kreston Menon Al Dohh.
Oman is not a country Raju approaches as an unknown frontier. It is a market he has encountered before, now revisited at a different stage in his own entrepreneurial journey and in the evolution of Kreston Menon. The difference lies not merely in scale, but in perspective.
The partnership with Ali Al Dohh embodies that maturity. Rather than building in isolation, it brings together an established Omani practice and a regional leader in Audit and Advisory.
It also creates a platform positioned to serve Omani enterprises, family businesses, entrepreneurs and investors, alongside international organisations operating in the Sultanate. For Raju Menon, the proposition rests on a principle refined through experience: professional expertise becomes more valuable when it is grounded in an understanding of the market it serves.
The Philosophy of Building
Raju’s approach to markets is closely connected to the way he leads people.
He believes professionals perform best when they are trusted with responsibility. Autonomy, accountability and open communication consequently occupy an important place in his management philosophy. Employees are encouraged to develop their abilities, contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.
Innovation follows the same principle. As professional services have evolved, Kreston Menon has embraced areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, data protection and cloud computing. For Raju, however, technology is valuable not because it is fashionable, but because it allows an organisation to anticipate changing client needs and work more intelligently.
He is equally conscious that technology cannot substitute for people. Systems can be modernised and strategies rewritten, but institutions endure because of the individuals who carry their standards, relationships and culture forward.
The Family Behind the Enterprise
If enterprise gave Raju’s life its outward momentum, family provided its centre.
He readily acknowledges the contribution of his wife, Girija Menon, herself a Chartered Accountant. Her counsel has accompanied his professional journey as well as the social initiatives undertaken by the family.

Their three sons—Aravind, Madhav and Govind—are now developing their own careers within areas connected to the organisation their father founded.
Aravind, an ACCA-qualified finance professional with an MSc in Business Analytics from the University of Exeter, works in strategy and operations at Kreston Menon. His interests encompass strategy, governance, risk, internal controls and technology-led efficiency.Madhav studied Accounting with a minor in Finance at the American
University of Sharjah before completing his ACCA qualification and is building his career in Taxation.
Govind, an Accounting and Finance graduate from Durham University works in Transaction Advisory at Kreston ME Consulting while pursuing the ACA qualification from ICAEW.

Their presence suggests continuity, but Raju does not regard continuity as entitlement. Education, professional qualification and experience remain important. The next generation must earn the ability not merely to preserve an institution, but to reinterpret it for a changing world.
Success Beyond the Balance Sheet
Raju Menon’s understanding of success has always extended beyond business. He believes that enterprise carries a responsibility to the society in which it grows, and that achievement acquires greater meaning when it contributes to the well-being of others.
Over the years, this conviction has translated into sustained support for causes close to him, particularly education, healthcare, social inclusion and the empowerment of women. His philanthropic efforts have sought to improve access to essential services, strengthen opportunities for disadvantaged communities and enable individuals to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
Education occupies a special place in this commitment. Raju sees it as one of the most enduring means of creating opportunity—not merely by rewarding achievement, but by giving people the confidence, skills and resources to shape their own futures.
His approach to social responsibility reflects the same values that have guided his entrepreneurial journey: integrity, empathy and a belief in creating lasting impact. For Raju, success is ultimately measured not only by what one builds, but also by the difference that achievement makes in the lives of others.
The View from My Perch
His autobiography, The View from My Perch, published by HarperCollins, recounts his passage from Kerala to Middle East and the evolution of the organisation that became Kreston Menon. Its Malayalam translation, Ee Chillayil Ninnulla Aalokam, was later published by DC Books, returning the story, in another form, to the language and cultural landscape of his beginnings.
The book is both recollection and entrepreneurial chronicle. It speaks particularly to students, young professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs standing at the beginning of journeys whose eventual destinations they cannot yet see.
The young man who left Kerala could not have known that his career would eventually encompass businesses, technologies and markets across India and the Gulf. Nor could the humble entrepreneurial beginning have foreseen precisely what the practice would become.
Much of his career has depended not on knowing the entire road ahead, but on recognising the next meaningful opportunity and being prepared to act upon it.
Oman and the Next Chapter
That journey now returns to Oman.
There is a certain symmetry in the moment. Raju once arrived in Dubai as a professional seeking opportunity in a market whose future was still unfolding. More than three decades later, he approaches the next phase of his engagement with Oman from the other side of that experience—as the founder of an established regional organisation, but with much the same appetite for what can still be built.
The formation of Kreston Menon Al Dohh carries that experience forward.

Its significance lies not merely in extending a corporate footprint, but in bringing two established professional traditions together. Ali Al Dohh contributes years of experience within Oman and close familiarity with the enterprises that shape its economy. Kreston Menon contributes the breadth accumulated through decades of growth across professional disciplines and regional markets.
What emerges is intended to be distinctly Omani in its grounding while broader in the resources upon which it can draw.
For Raju, this is an important distinction. His career has taught him that longevity is rarely created by size alone. Institutions endure when they understand where they belong, remain useful to the people they serve and continue adapting without losing the principles on which they were built.
Those principles have travelled a considerable distance with him—from Edavilangu to Mumbai, from Mumbai to Dubai, and eventually across India and the Middle East. Integrity, discipline, curiosity, respect for people and the courage to act on opportunity have remained remarkably constant even as the scale around them has changed.
His life can be described through numbers: three people becoming more than 500 professionals, one practice becoming 20 offices, one market becoming several. But numbers describe scale, not character.
The more revealing story lies in the decisions between those milestones: leaving the familiar, continuing to learn, accepting entrepreneurial risk, crossing borders, trusting people, embracing change, and understanding that there are moments when collaboration can create possibilities.
The establishment of Kreston Menon Al Dohh belongs to that larger story.
It is not simply another destination in Raju Menon’s entrepreneurial journey. It represents the convergence of experience and opportunity—two recognized brands bringing together regional capability and Omani strength to create something intended to endure.
The question is no longer simply how far an organization can travel.
It is what value it can create when it arrives.
