A Fascinating Saga Begins in Kollakadavu
When Ameen was born in Kollakadavu, Alappuzha district, to the late Abdulla Kunju, a former military officer, and Fathima Beevi, a home-maker, not many would have imagined him that he was destined for greater glory later in life. He began his innings by bagging a diploma in Civil Engineering and embarked on his professional journey as an engineering trainee in the local panchayat in 1998. The following year, Ameen joined the Kerala Land Development Corporation as a trainee.
From 2000 to 2002, the foundation of his career was laid at Trade House Construction in Muttrah,Oman, where he served as a Site Engineer. A turning point in life came when Ameen got a chance to work with Al Fahal Contracting Co. / Galfar Engineering, as a Jr Planning /Site Engineer in the Sultanate for the next four years as a Planning Site Engineer in the Sultanate. It was during this period that he was involved with prestigious projects such as the Oncology Centre at Royal Hospital and Al Kahal Hospital at Al Wusta. From Galfar, he moved to Khatib & Alami and Partners in Muscat which is an engineering consultancy firm. . In that role, he served as the Project inspector (Civil) for the esteemed project, The Central Prison located in Samail, Oman.
Following a decade in civil consultancy, 2011 marked a radical evolution in his career. He moved to Pico International an Event Management firm as a Senior Project Manager. Under his stewardship, the firm’s portfolio expanded into the realm of cultural and experiential architecture. During his tenure, the firm spearheaded high-profile initiatives such as the Al Saidiya School Museum ,various events and exhibition stands and stunning, theme-based custom designs and impeccable execution at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre. This period redefined his portfolio, proving that his expertise extended far beyond structural steel to the meticulous execution of world-class heritage and event spaces.
In 2014, his career took a definitive turn toward entrepreneurship. What began as a strategic Jotun-branded paint dealership in Ruwi rapidly evolved; within six months, the enterprise pivoted into the highly technical field of specialized epoxy and protective coatings. His firm became a key contributor to Oman’s national infrastructure, by delivering high-profile projects at Avenues Mall Ghubra, ,Lulu Mall at Ruwi and Al Ansab, the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Salalah, Oman airports, OMIFCO, ROP station at Seeb, Pepsi Warehouses at Nizwa and Al Ansab,
His firm quickly became a vital player in shaping Oman’s modern landscape, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s most iconic infrastructure. From the bustling retail hubs of Avenues Mall Ghubra and Lulu Mall at Ruwi and Al Ansab to the high-stakes precision of Oman’s airports and the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Salalah, his expertise is woven into the very fabric of the Sultanate. The eldest Nabeel Ahamad is third-year BTech student at the prestigious TKM College of Engineering in Kollam, Kerala, carrying forward the family’s engineering legacy. Daughter Nursa Fathima is navigating her Class XII year at the renowned Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir (ISWK) in Muscat, while younger son Nadeer Ahmed is thriving in Class IX at the same institution, one of Oman’s most respected Indian curriculum schools known for its holistic education and vibrant community.
