She is making waves by establishing and sustaining two successfully businesses. Her passion for haute couture led her to establish Avni Designs and her culinary prowess and penchant for baking gave rise to Sweet Cravings.
A Journey That Began in Kannur
Amrita hails from Kannur where she was born to She belongs to Kannur where she was born to M Venugopal a retired official, and Meera, a homemaker. Her professional journey began after she graduated in Commerce from Calicut University when she joined ICICI Bank Ltd as a Business Development Executive. Later, she was promoted as Junior Officer. It was during this time she gained strong experience in customer relationship management, retail banking, and sales, while consistently achieving targets and earning recognition.
From ICICI Bank, Amrita moved to Schneider Electric (APC) in Bengaluru where she worked as a Sales Executive. This role helped to hone her skills in handling partner relationships, driving revenue, and managing business operations. She was recognised for her stellar performance and she was the recipient of multiple awards, which boosted her confidence.
The skill sets she earned during her career in India came in handy in Muscat when she yielded to the strong desire to have something of her own. By taking the plunge, she established Avni Designs four years ago. Over the years, it has grown into a trusted boutique known for custom stitching, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The success of Avni and her quest for greater heights led Amrita to set up Sweet Cravings, a dessert café a year ago. Thanks to creative marketing strategies, strong customer engagement and consistent quality, it has acquired a growing and loyal customer base. Amrita leveraged the possibilities of social media marketing to create a strong brand presence and also channelised word of mouth publicity.
Today, she nurtures both businesses by banking on her professional background and combining it with her entrepreneurial wisdom. In short, her journey is a reflection of perseverance, adaptability and the belief that with passion and grit anything can be achieved.
Family and Passions
Amrita is married to Raneesh, who is an accounts manager. She credits her better half for playing a major role in the success of her business ventures. She says it was his encouragement and faith in her that gave her the strength to tide over crisis with confidence and grow as a business woman. They are blessed with a daughter and a son. While Avni is in Class VI, Avin is six years old.
Apart from her business pursuits, Amrita finds time to pursue her twin passions of dancing and baking. She is also actively involved in community events. An active member of the Indian Social Club Malayalam Wing and AKW Muscat, she supports events and programmes which are an important part of her journey. She has also received appreciation and recognition for this.
