A Journey That Began In Azhikode
Abdul belongs to Azhikode in Kannur District where he was born to the late V K Abul Rahman, a businessman, and C K Rabiya, a housewife. It was on the Christmas Day of 1985 that Abdul first reached the shores of the Sultanate. As entrepreneurship runs in his veins, he lost no time in plunging into business. Over the years, he has successfully done several businesses before foraying into the Travel and Restaurant segments.
Zuhoor Nizwa renders a host of services to its trusted clientele and they include bus services, visa assistance, hotel bookings, rental cars, cargo operations, Hajj and Ummrah packages, airport pick up and drop and passport renewal assistance.
Abdul also runs Al Tobi Travels which is spread across Muscat, Iski, Bahla and Ibri. It was in 2024 that he got the UAE golden visa where he operates the Dubai-based Bavas Tourism LLC with three staff. it is located in Qusais and his nephew is in charge there. It offers tour packages and visa assistance and it has outlets in other places as well.
Al Thawq Al Raffe is manned by 17 employees and it is the best destination for feel good food that spans Indian, Arabic, Chinese and Continental flavours to please all palates. One of the best eateries in Nizwa, it is known for its amazing array of dishes that appeal to one and all. They serve Arabian hot choices such as chicken mandhi and an array of wraps containing chicken and meat. Also on offer are south Indian breakfast items and the ethnic dishes of Kerala comprising spicy preparations of mussels, prawns, fish, chicken and meat.
When it comes to continental items, there are different kinds of pasta and sandwiches of different sizes with diverse fillings. They comprise, submarine, zinger, Italian and croissant. Apart from the food items, Al Thawq boats a fabulous array of juices and shakes to accompany its diverse dishes.
Family and Passions
Abdul is socially active and is well known among the expatriate fraternity. He is the Nizwa Area Treasurer of KMCC and is also the president of the Sunni Centre. Apart from his business activities, he is also involved in social work. Abdul is also the patron of the Nizwa Indian Community. He is married to Roshina, a homemaker, and their son Rabeez is an MBA holder from Garden City College in Bengaluru. Their daughter Rasina is a graduate, and she is married to businessman Ramisi K C, who is in the food industry. The third child Mohammad Jassr is a CNA student.
