A Journey That Began in Pathanamthitta
A native of Pathanamthitta, Dr. Mujeeb was born to retired forest officer A. Mohammed Ibrahim and former treasury officer M. Laila Beevi. He did his medical studies at Irkutsk State Medical University in Russia and went on to bag a PG diploma in clinical cardiology from IGNOU in India. He later became a fellow in a PhD from Thiruvananthapuram. He started his career by serving Bethany Hospital, Ranni-Perunadu, and later Muthoot Hospital, Pathanamthitta. He continued his service at the Municipal Urban Health and Wellness Centre in Mattanur in Kannur and the PHC in Koodal, Pathanamthitta. He had a stint at KIMS Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam and at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where he served as a consultant clinical cardiologist.
He then went to Meditrina Hospitals in 2016, where he served for five years in their branches in Kenya, Maldives, and Haryana . From 2021 to 2025, Dr. Mujeeb was with Apollo Hospitals in Ruwi as a cardiology specialist before joining Burjeel.
With a presence of more than 20 years in the medical field, Dr Mujeeb has acquired expertise in treating Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Management of Arrhythmias (SVT, AF, VT), Acute Heart Failure, Chronic Heart Failure, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Valvular Heart Diseases,.He is expertise in Cardiovascular Assessment (Echocardiography, Stress Test, Holter Monitoring, Ambulatory BP Monitoring), and Preventive Cardiology.
He is a member of different international cardiac societies and has served as a speaker in various international conferences and has publications related to cardiology in various national and international journals.
He is also serving as a visiting lecturer at Irkutsk State Medical University, Russia. He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of American College of Cardiology (FACC)
Family and Passions
A wildlife and nature enthusiast, Dr. Mujeeb loves music, traveling, and reading. He is the present Gen. Secretary of the Ruwi Malayalee Association and the National General Secretary of the Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists. He is married to Dr. Sheeja Mujeeb, who is a doctor at General Hospital, Pathanamthitta. Their eldest child, Nihala Mujeeb, is a first-year Bachelor of Design student at Amity University, while their second daughter, Nyla Mujeeb, is in Class VI. He has one sister, Mrs. Mumthaz, who is working as Joint Director, Revenue Department, Kerala.
