A man of erudition with a deep passion for art, literature, caricature, and cartooning, Dr. Rajulal Rafeek, Business Head – Project Supplies at Al Khalili Enterprises LLC, is truly a cut above the rest. He has been serving in this leadership role since March 2010, heading a division that deals with building materials, hardware, tools, and ELV systems.
A Journey That Began in Alamcode (Attingal)
Dr. Rajulal Rafeek hails from Alamcode in Thiruvananthapuram district, where he was born to Mohammed Rafeek, a retired Soil Conservation Officer of the Government of Kerala, and the late Raheena, a graduate. Academically accomplished, he holds master’s degrees in literature and Sociology from Madurai Kamaraj University, along with an MBA from Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He also completed a Diploma in Civil Engineering and AMICE, which is equivalent to a B.Tech in Civil Engineering, and went on to earn a PhD in Integrated Marketing Communication in 2023.
His professional journey began with the Sunday Supplement of the Malayalam daily Kerala Kaumudi, after which he joined Toonz Animation India at Technopark, one of Kerala’s pioneering animation studios, where he worked for four years. In 2000, he co-founded ‘Technomate Moulding Professionals (P) Ltd’ with four partners, a venture that quickly gained recognition, and he remained associated with it until January 2024 alongside his other professional commitments.
A significant turning point came in 2008 when he moved to the UAE to work with Zabeel as a Development Manager. Two years later, in 2010, he relocated to Oman to join Al Khalili Enterprises LLC as a Senior Product Manager, eventually rising to his current position as Business Head.
Creative Pursuits and Media Presence
Despite a demanding professional schedule, Dr. Rajulal Rafeek has consistently nurtured his passion for art and literature. He engages in sketching, writing, and reflective musings, often carving out time for creativity amid his busy routine. His work has been featured multiple times in leading media outlets. A former visual media presenter, he has anchored more than 1,000 episodes of morning shows on Surya TV and Jeevan TV, and has also appeared on Asianet, Doordarshan, and Jaihind TV. He continues to remain active as an anchor for stage shows and cultural programmes.

Passions and Family
Dr. Rajulal Rafeek is an active member of the Indian Social Club Kerala Wing and a former Division Director in Toastmasters International, where he has earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) recognition. Known for his eloquence and engaging presence, he is much sought after as a speaker and event host. Despite his professional commitments, he continues to devote time to reading, caricature drawing, and cultural engagements.
He is married to Nimsa Rajulal, who holds a master’s degree in economics. Their elder son, Ashik Mohammed, is involved in volunteer service at a special school in Thiruvananthapuram, while their younger son, Al Ameen Rajulal, who is an upcoming chess player is a Class V student at Lovedale Residential School.
