A result-oriented professional who is currently associated with the University of Nizwa, Santhosh Pallicken has more than a decade of leadership experience in investment, business management, and healthcare-related sectors. He is serving as Director of UoNIF (University of Nizwa Investment Fund) since 2011 and is the Managing Director of Rimaj Perfume, a premium brand of fragrance in the Sultanate having a niche clientele. He was also instrumental in establishing Future Labs LLC, the pioneers in manufacturing laboratory furniture in Oman.
With a proven track record in strategic planning, business development, and organisational growth, Santhosh Pallicken has to his credit diverse industry experience gleaned from leading organisations, including the Ministry of Health, Philips, Nestlé, Royal Medical, and Lab Plus, where he worked in various capacities. With strong expertise in cross-functional leadership, operations management, and building sustainable business ventures, this entrepreneur is known for his forward-thinking approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation while delivering measurable results across multiple sectors.
The Saga That Began in Vennikulam
Santhosh was born in Vennikulam, Thiruvalla, to the late PT Philip, a former transport officer in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, and the late Sosamma Philip, a homemaker. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication and later went on to secure a Master’s in Business Administration.
He started his career at Philips India in Mumbai, where he worked as a trainee engineer. From there, he got a chance to work in the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia for three years. Then in 1995, he came to Dubai where he worked with Philips for one and a half years. He also had a six-year stint with Nestle as product engineer before his entrepreneurial journey sprouted wings in 2003. He launched Royal Medical Supplies in Dubai with four staff, and it dealt with medical equipment. From 2006 to 2011, he was with Lab Plus in Ras Al Khaimah as sales manager. It was in 2011 that he came to the Sultanate and joined Future Labs LLC, a non-profit venture of Nizwa University, as its director.
About Future Labs
What started as an entirely new division of the University of Nizwa Investment Fund (UNIF) in 2011, became a full-fledged production facility of laboratory furniture made of wood and metal, fume cupboards, and toilet cubicles. Future Labs pioneered the manufacturing of such furniture in the Sultanate, and it is aimed at becoming a regional hub that meets the lab requirements of universities, hospitals, companies, and other institutions.
Under the stewardship of Santhosh, Future Labs has a team of highly efficient staff with adequate experience. They aim to ensure that each product that comes out is of high quality, adhering to international standards, and affordable at the same time, without compromise on the safety aspect. The supply, production, and proper installation processes are closely watched, and there is appropriate service back up.
About University of Nizwa
Future Labs is one of the ambitious enterprises spearheaded by the University of Nizwa, which is a not-for-profit private higher education hub established in 2004. Located 140 km away from Muscat in Al Dakhiliya, the university provides a progressive and safe learning environment while being respectful of the traditions and ethos of Oman. At present, the university offers more than 30 undergraduate majors and six master’s programmes to nearly 6,500 students.
On the Fragrant Trail
Additionally, Santhosh also serves as the Managing Director of Rimaj Perfumes, which is also under the University of Nizwa. Dealing with Omani fragrances, its production plant is coming up in Russail, and it manufactures premium perfumes to suit the Omani taste.
Family
Santhosh, who is enthusiastic about football, and badminton, is supported in his endeavours by his wife, Annie Pallicken, who has a Master’s in IT and used to work at the University. Their daughter Dr Chintu Susan Pallicken MS-ENT, has a postgraduation in Surgery and she is married to Dr Jesvin Jois Abraham DM cardiac anesthesia, who is a specialist in Anaesthesia-Cardiology. Santhosh and Annie have a son, Darel Philip Pallicken, who is an engineer with an MBA from Amity University in Pune to his credit. He is working as a Marketing Analyst.
Social Activities
Santhosh is equally passionate about social activities and he is an active member of the Overseas Indian Cultural Congress, an affiliate of the Indian National Congress party, in which he is the Secretary. He is also a Managing Committee Member of the Mar Gregorios Maha Edavaka Church, and served as the Secretary of St Mary’s Church in Ras Al Khaimah from 2008 to 2009.
He was the Founder Secretary of the Y’s Men’s Club in Ras Al Khaimah and the Founder President of the same club in the Sultanate of Oman. Santhosh is also the Secretary of Incas Oman and an ad hoc committee member. A member of the Indian Social Club, Santhosh is also an associate member of the Indian Engineers Forum. This businessman also serves as the Chairman of the Lions Club and is the patron of OPPAM, a fraternity of people hailing from Pathanamthitta.

Santhosh has several international awards to his credit, such as the Best Quality Leadership Awards from Las Vegas, USA, the Biz Leadership Award from Oman, and the Quality Management Award from the UK, to name a few.
